Also, we are celebrating with our members who are taking communion for the first time today!  Please see the insert in today’s bulletin for the names of those being baptized, new families coming into our church, along with their  sponsors and shepherds, and those taking communion for the first time.

GERANIUMS FOR PENTECOST

Today is your last opportunity to order Geraniums for Pentecost Sunday.  Next Sunday, May 19th, we will again decorate the altar area with red geraniums from Kitch’s Greenhouse.  You may purchase these to take home after the second service or leave them to be planted around the church.  Cost is $4.00.  Order forms are available in the Narthex!

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
St. John’s Lutheran Church
invites all children to get ready to dive into fun at OPERATION OVERBOARD:  DARE TO GO DEEP WITH GOD.  Explore and experience God’s underwater universe at VBS!  The fun begins June 10bth and ends June 14th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.   Registration forms are available from any Sunday School teacher, or visit the church’s website at stjohnsmiamisburg.org and sign-up.  Please register by May 26, 2013.

SUMMERY SUNDAY SCHOOL

Summer Sunday School is just around the corner, June 2nd. Last year was such a success, we thought that we would ask for your help again this year.  It is simple: (1) Sign your name next to a date on the sign-up sheet in the vestibule.  (2) Choose a topic, and an activity and write it next to your name.  This could  be  a  story  and  a  craft, singing, game,  be creative! (3) Show up on that date in Sunday School chapel with material for about 15 children. If you have questions or need help with material phone Robin Skelding at 748 or Barb Hoffman at 859-8871.

HABIT FOR HUMANITY WORK DAY

Dayton Ohio Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with God and people from all walks of life to develop communities with people in need by building and renovating houses so that there are decent and affordable homes in safe communities where families can live and grow.  Join members of St. John's in building a home with the Enriquez family on N. Smith St. in West Carrollton on June 29th.  All skill levels, men and women, 16 years-old and over are welcome.  You can come out for the morning shift from 8:30am-noon, the afternoon from 12:30 pm-4 pm, or both.  Please contact Brook Nauta at 513-217-0564 or brooknauta@gmail.com to sign up or for more information.  It is a lot of fun!
